What is NABCEP?
NABCEP Board Certifications ensure you have the knowledge and skills to meet the demands of renewable energy projects and employers across the world. Developed by subject matter experts for industry professionals, these certifications are built on rigorous standards and ongoing research to meet the real-world needs of customers, businesses, utility companies, and governmental organizations.
The most experienced NABCEP
certified professional in the region
IAN HUDDLESTON, Owner & CEO
Ian established Greene Tech Renewable Energy in 2008. Long before that, he graduated from the New England Culinary Institute and embarked on a distinguished career as a professional Chef, culminating in his role as the Executive Chef at the World Golf Village Hall of Fame Renaissance in St. Augustine, FL. Despite his success in culinary arts, Ian dedicated his spare time to researching and immersing himself in the field of renewable energy. Eventually, he relocated his family to Tennessee and transitioned back to his original profession in electrical work, specializing in renewable energy solutions for individuals and businesses.

For over 16 years, Ian and his team have installed, repaired, and upgraded renewable energy systems across the northeast Tennessee region. No solar, hydro, or wind professional in the region has more experience than Ian Huddleston and the GTRE team.

Why Hire a PV Installation Professional?
1) As the only certification organization in the industry with an enforceable code of ethics, NABCEP provides renewable energy customers with a way to hold unethical installers accountable for their actions in a way that no other association or membership organization can.
2) It is incredibly important that the design of a solar array is sound, both mechanically and electrically. Using a NABCEP certified PV Installation Professional, you can rest easy that your array will not fly off the roof or come out of the ground from wind loads. Electrically, it is important that the system is configured correctly with accurate wire sizes, disconnects, and connection points. If a system is not correctly configured it can result in underperformance or a fire safety hazard to the home or business. Why risk working with a team without a NABCEP certified member?
